In the name of all who are interested in the Record, we tender them a vote of thanks. School spirit, we are sorry to say, has not, in some of the classes, been as much in evidence as we should like to see it. During the latter part of this term the respective presidents of six at least of the eight classes in this school, made desperate attempts to assemble the students in class-meetings, with the result that, upon the average, six students from each class attended the meetings. This is only one evidence of the lack of enthusiastic interest which during the latter part of this term has been prevalent. We hope that vacation will be a source of inspiration to us all. ****** Hurrah for the Seventh Termers! They have chosen their class colors. The result of the decision was the seceltion of rose and cream. Entered at the Chico Postofflce as Second-Class Matter. CHICO, CALIFORNIA, JUNE, 1904. With the farewells which we whisper to the graduates we mingle those to the Normal Record, and it is with not a little regret that we resign our positions as members of the staff to our successors. That Ave have honestly endeavored to introduce more variety, more originality. and more material of interest to the students at large than have hitherto been presented, we hardly need to say; in how- far Ave have been successful it is not for us to determine. That our efforts have not ahvays been appreciated Ave are assured but n'importe. We can only hope that Shakespeare Avas AA'rong Avhen he said: "The evil that men do lives after them.'' We hope Ave shall be remembered for the good. The success of this edition's Record has been due very largely indeed to the exceptional work of our business managers, The fever of unrest seems to possess the members of our Faculty and one after the other they are responding to the impulse to "migrate." Unless a change of plans is announced Mr. Stamper Avill not be with us next term, as he has been granted a femporary leave of absence. Due to a gross oversight no mention was made in last month's number of the fact that all associated with the Training School Avere glad to extend a cordial welcome to Mrs. Meriam. Well, better late than never, perhaps. Y. W. C. A.
