Description
Photograph shows the tree-covered front yard of The Greenwood home place . This was the home of the Greenwoods , pioneers of Orland . When the project was formed , the son , Del Greenwood , and his wife , Ethel , and their two children lived here. It remained in the family until after Del Greenwood died in about 1935 and then was sold finally coming into the possession of Harold Vereschagin . It is located in the west side of 99 W , a mile north of town and has been greatly changed since this picture was taken . The long picket fence was replaced by a very good looking fence of boulders from the creek , but this was later whitewashed white and the old orange orchard lost its beauty , the house torn down and the fruit stand erected near the driveway . Orland , Glenn County , California .
