The Meriam Library Special Collections Department is a unique regional resource of written and pictorial materials, maps, photographs, oral histories, and public documents, that are collected to serve the research and information needs of the north state.
Through our collections we seek to document the historical and contemporary developments of the University, the City of Chico, Butte County, and the larger 12 county area of northeastern California.
The Special Collections Department acquires, preserves, and makes available records and collections of value to the study of the social, cultural, political, and environmental heritage of northeastern California.
CSU Chico Digital Collections will represent materials from the following areas:
- The Northeastern California Collection and
- Northeastern California Historical Photographs
- The Historical Map Collection
- The Manuscript Collection
- The Rare Books Collection
- The University Archives Collection
All of our collections are open to the public.
The CSU Chico Digital Collections site serves to facilitate access to selected materials from our collections and, as this resource grows, provide a means for the discovery of the unique resources available at the library. Please check back frequently to see our latest additions to the collection.
The CSU Chico Digital Collections are supported by the Meriam Library and the Ellen Deering Endowment Fund.
